Connections and setup behind the features

Bank snapshots need a configured Plaid connection; availability depends on the bank and region. Balances are saved snapshots, and recurring or duplicate suggestions need your review. CSV exports, invoices, and separate currencies remain available alongside the charts.

Personal-record AI, document review, and health planning require a compatible model on your computer or local network. PDF/OCR tools are optional installations. Guest booking, family access, and store handoff need separate setup. See the preview setup guide

How it works

Your context.
AI that can use it.

Zelos is the workspace around the AI. It brings in records, finds relevant context, gives that context to your chosen model, and puts useful results where you can review them.

  1. 01

    Connect what matters.

Add the mail accounts, calendars, project sources, and local files you want Zelos to read. It keeps an archive on your computer. You choose the sources; Zelos checks them while it is open.

  2. 02

    Give AI the relevant background.

For a question or check, Zelos gathers context from your records and asks the model you configured to interpret it. Instead of manually copying a thread into a chat, you can ask in the place that already holds the context.

  3. 03

Turn the answer into a next step.

See priorities, review meeting prep, follow source references, or inspect an assigned task’s result. Edit a draft, correct a detail, snooze an item, or mark it done. AI helps prepare the work; you decide what to trust and act on.

Your AI, on your terms

Choose the model.
Keep the workspace.

Zelos does not lock your records to one AI provider. Configure a compatible online model, or run one locally, and keep working in the same place.

An online model

Use a compatible provider with your own API key and configuration. Zelos sends the context needed for a request to that provider.

This gives you access to hosted models without running one on your own hardware. Provider charges, capabilities, and data policies apply.

A model on your computer

Use a compatible model through Ollama, LM Studio, or a server on your local network. Personal-record questions, document review, and health planning in the preview require this kind of connection.

You control the model connection. Its own routing determines where it processes requests; a local address alone does not guarantee offline processing. Speed and answer quality depend on the model and hardware.

Useful help. Decisions that stay yours.

The model helps interpret, summarize, prioritize, and prepare work from the context Zelos provides. It can miss details or get an answer wrong. Check source references and review results before relying on them. The workspace also gives you direct search, calendars, records, and task controls that do not need an AI answer for every click.

In the 1.8.4 preview, email sending requires review and your explicit Send reply action. You choose which imported records to save and which items to share with a store or family member. Other AI clients receive only the read access you enable. Connected services still use their own networks.

How your data is handled

Bring your world together

All the places
life comes in.

Connect the sources you use. Zelos keeps its own archive on your computer, so the next question starts with context.

Mail & messages

Gmail · iCloud · Outlook · Yahoo · Fastmail · IMAP
Messages on Mac (preview) · WhatsApp exports

Time & meetings

Calendar links · CalDAV · .ics files · Fireflies

Projects & knowledge

Slack · GitHub · Linear · Todoist · RSS & Atom · Local folders

What you need to connect

Email providers may require an app password. Google and Microsoft OAuth require your own client registration; Outlook.com needs that additional setup. Other services use credentials you supply. Read the setup guide

Messages import reads text already synced to your Mac, requires macOS Full Disk Access, and is available in the current development build. WhatsApp import uses an exported chat file. Zelos checks connected sources while it is open.

A few good questions

Know what
you’re bringing home.

How is Zelos different from opening a chat with an AI?

Zelos combines a local archive, connected sources, and everyday views with an AI model you choose. You can ask about saved records without rebuilding all the background in each conversation, then keep working with tasks, calendars, drafts, and plans in the same workspace.

The AI model supplies language and reasoning capabilities. Zelos supplies the context, the workflow, and the controls around the result.

Does Zelos include an AI subscription?

No. Zelos is free and open source. For an online model, you configure a compatible provider and may pay that provider for API usage. A chat subscription does not necessarily include API usage.

You can instead configure a local model. It needs suitable hardware and a compatible local endpoint. The website demo uses prepared examples and has no AI usage charge.

Does it automatically do things on my behalf?

You can assign supported work, such as researching saved records, preparing an unsent reply, saving a note, or creating a weekly report. Zelos records the steps so you can inspect the result.

Sending email is a reviewed action in the current build. It does not silently complete a grocery checkout. Booking publication and external connections require their own setup.

Where do my records and AI requests go?

The archive lives on your computer. Connected sources contact their own services. When you choose an online AI, the relevant content for the request goes to that provider.

A model served locally can process on your hardware, but its own configuration controls any onward routing. The preview also offers optional bank, search, store, family, and booking connections. See the preview’s data flows

Can I use the new interface shown in the demo today?

The website showcases the 1.8.4 QA preview, with fictional records in the demo. Its source and test installers are on GitHub. The published installer below remains 1.8.1, with an earlier interface and a smaller feature set.

The preview passed automated checks on Mac and Windows, including both processor types. It is still a preview; hands-on Windows installation and upgrade checks remain. The demo lets you explore without real accounts, and changes reset on reload.
